Read your messages from all accounts in one place
You can set Gmail to leave email you download in Outlook unread in your inbox, or you can download email automatically in Gmail. You can also delete messages that are already downloaded in Outlook.
The instructions in this article apply to Outlook 2019, Outlook 2016, Outlook 2013, Outlook 2010, and Outlook for Office 365.
Access Gmail with Outlook
To receive messages sent to your Gmail account in Outlook, you must first prepare Gmail and then Outlook. After you enable IMAP in Gmail, you can set up an account in Outlook.

Open Outlook and go to File .

Select Add Account . A window will open Add Account .

In a text field E-mail address enter your Gmail email address.

Select connect .

Enter your Gmail password, then select connect .

Wait while Outlook connects to your Gmail account.
Connect Gmail and Outlook manually
If automatic setup doesn’t work as expected, set up Gmail manually in Outlook.

Open Outlook.

Select File .
-
Select Add Account . The Add Account window opens.

Select extra options .

Select Allow me to set up my account manually .

Enter your email address and then select connect .

Select IMAP .

Enter your password then select connect .

Select Change account settings .

Enter the following information in the text box: IMAP Account Settings .
Incoming mail server (IMAP) imap.gmail.com
SSL required: Yes
Port: 993
Outgoing mail server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com
SSL required: Yes
TLS required: Yes (if available)
Verification required: Yes
Port for SSL: 465
Port for TLS/STARTTLS: 587
Full name or display name your name Account name, username or email address your full email address password your Gmail password -
Select connect and wait while Outlook connects to your Gmail account.
