Add your contact details, thoughtful statement or anything else

An email signature consists of several lines of text that are placed at the bottom of all outgoing email. It can include your name, website, company, phone number, and even a little information about an elevator or a favorite quote. Use this space to share important contact information and to promote yourself and your business in a concise way.

In Gmail, it’s easy to set a signature for your emails.

Insert Email Signature in Gmail

To set up a signature that is automatically added to emails you compose in Gmail:

  1. Press the button Settings on the Gmail toolbar.

  2. Select Settings on the menu.

  3. Go to General.

  4. Make sure the section Signature selected account.

  5. Enter the desired signature in the text box. It is best if your signature has about five lines of text. You don’t need to include the signature separator; Gmail will insert it automatically. Use the formatting bar to add formatting or an image.

    If you don’t see the format string, start a new message in rich text format.

  6. Click Saving Changes

  7. Gmail will now automatically insert the signature when composing a message. You can change or delete it before clicking . click send

Move your Gmail signature above quoted text in replies

To have Gmail insert your signature right after your message and above the original message in replies:

  1. Click the gear icon Settings in Gmail.

  2. Select Settings in the menu that appears.

  3. Go to category Occur often

  4. know for sure insert this caption before the quoted text in answers and remove the “-” line before it and mark the desired signature.

  5. As a general rule, you manually add the default signature separator to the signature.

  6. Click Saving Changes

Set a custom signature for mobile Gmail

In the Gmail mobile web app, you can also set a signature designed for use on the go.

Delete captions

While you can always change or delete your signature every time you send a new or reply message, if you don’t want to include a temporary signature anymore, you’ll need to disable Gmail email signatures completely.
