Change the default formatting settings for Google Docs

When you create a document in Google Docs, default settings such as font style, line spacing, and background color are automatically applied to the document. It’s easy enough to change any of these elements for part or all of your document on a case-by-case basis, but using the same settings consistently across most or all of your Google Docs can save you a lot of time and hassle changing. from default document settings. After you change the default values, these settings appear in all documents you create. Of course, you can change the formatting of any individual element in a document, but the default format provides a consistent starting point.

Change the default settings for: flat text in Google Docs, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open a document.

  2. Highlight the text you want to change.

  3. In the panel above the text, select the font, font size, paragraph spacing, text color, background color, or any other aspect you want to change.

  4. Select Format.

  5. Select Section styles.

  6. Click usual text.

  7. Select Refresh Flat text” before compliance

  8. Click Format.

  9. Click Section styles Functions Save how my strong > default styles

You can also use the same process to change the default formatting settings for other elements, such as headings, headings, borders, and shading. Instead of choosing Format Paragraph Styles , just choose the formatting option you want to set instead of the paragraph styles. Update the style to match the selected text and save it as the default styles so that these styles now apply to all documents you create.

To restore the original Google Docs styles, select Format parameters: Reset styles.
