Copy, merge, or move Google Calendar events
With Google Calendar, you can support multiple calendars at once through a single Google account. It’s easy to copy Google Calendar events from one calendar to another, and you can even combine them all into one unified schedule.
How to copy Google Calendar events
To copy all appointments from one Google calendar to another, you must first export the calendar and then import the calendar file into a separate calendar. From the Google Calendar website, do the following:
In section My calendars on the left side of the page, select the three vertical dots next to the calendar you want to copy and select Settings and sharing †
Select Calendar export to download the calendar ZIP file.
Right click on the ZIP file you just downloaded and select the option Extract to open the folder and move the ICS file to a place where you can find it easily.
Go back to Google Calendar, select the gear icon in the top right corner and select Institutions in the drop-down menu.
Select Import and Export From the left.
Select Select a file on your computer to open the ICS file from step 3.
Select Add to calendar and select the calendar to which you want to copy the events.
Select Import to copy all saved calendar events to the assigned Google calendar.
To delete the original calendar to avoid duplicate appointments in multiple calendars, select remove in section Delete calendar in the lower part Settings and Sharing Strong > page.
How to Copy, Move or Duplicate Google Calendar Events
Instead of copying an entire calendar full of events, you can move individual events between calendars and also make copies of specific events, for example:
Select the event you want to move or copy, then click the pencil icon that appears to edit it.
Select Additional promotions † and then select Duplicate or Copy to from drop-down list † menu.
Select Save to confirm the changes.
Tips for copying, merging, and duplicating Google Calendar events
Copying just one event to another calendar can be useful if you want to share an event with a group of friends. Sharing events allows you to prevent all your personal events from appearing in a shared calendar.
If you want to merge an entire calendar with another, it’s better to copy the entire calendar of events to a new or existing calendar instead of moving each individual calendar event one by one.
Duplicating an event can be useful if you want to create a similar event without creating all the details from scratch. Duplicating an appointment is also useful if you want to keep the same or similar appointments in multiple calendars.
