Sign in to Nimbuzz for Mac
Whenever you first log in to Nimbuzz for Mac, you’ll see the default Friends List window. The only exception to what your Nimbuzz contact list will look like is when the screen is replaced by a login form filled with text fields for your Nimbuzz username or display name and password.
To login, enter your username and password, then click the blue “Login” button.
How to create a Nimbuzz account
New users who do not have a free Nimbuzz username or password must create one before they can use the messaging client.
Follow these simple steps to create your account:
Launch Nimbuzz for Mac on your desktop
Click the “Create a Nimbuzz username” link in the client window.
See the next step for further instructions on how to create your own Nimbuzz for Mac account. Continue: Create a free Nimbuzz account
Forgot your Nimbuzz password?
Have you forgotten your account password? Users can click on “Forgot password?” a link to reset your password and access your account. You will need your username and your Nimbuzz for Mac account email address.
Saving your Nimbuzz password
Users also have the option to check the “Remember my password” option (below the password text field) to allow the customer to save your password information. This option should only be enabled if you are using your own computer and you are the only user, otherwise other computer users may be able to access your Nimbuzz account.
Never enable password storage for this or any other client software, email service, social networking service, or similar service when using a public computer (such as a library, Internet cafe, school, or workstation).
Set Nimbuzz availability at login
At the bottom of the login form you can also log in as online, away, busy or invisible , which allows you to communicate your availability level to your contacts from the get-go or be displayed completely offline.
Create your free Nimbuzz display name and password
When you choose to create a new Nimbuzz for Mac account, users must enter their username or display name, password, new password (for verification to make sure you entered the password correctly), phone number (optional, see below ) to enter. ) and enter the code from the image into the text box.
After filling the form, click “Continue” to create a new Nimbuzz for Mac account and password.
Things to Consider: New Nimbuzz Accounts
Display name . It’s a common beginner mistake: never create a username that reveals too much information about yourself, as it can be used to reveal your real identity and other personal information about you. In this case, however, only you, the user, will see your Nimbuzz display name, as Nimbuzz itself is not a network-based, but a multi-protocol messaging client.
password . As one of the 7 worst IM contributors, passwords should always remain private. If someone ever sends you a message pretending to be a Nimbuzz admin or other messaging client, do not provide your account password and contact the company providing the messaging client directly for confirmation.
phone number . Entering your phone number is optional, but without it you won’t be able to use Nimbuzz’s great VoIP services for Mac or Buzzing, which let you chat with friends using their PC phone service. Please consider whether you will ever use these services before submitting the form. You can still enter this telephone number.
captcha . A captcha is a series of words, letters, and sometimes symbols you see on Internet forms, designed to prevent spammers from passing information to the author of the form. If you can’t read the captcha, click the “try another image” icon next to the text field to enter another string of characters.
Install and enable Growl notifications for Nimbuzz for Mac
After signing up for a free Nimbuzz for Mac account, some users may be prompted to install Growl on their Mac if it isn’t already installed on their computer.
Growl is the notification system used by Nimbuzz and a number of other messaging clients on the OS X platform. Without this system, you may not know if someone is sending you IMs unless you have Nimbuzz open.
Set Growl Notifications
If you get a dialog box like the one above, click the blue Install button to continue. Follow any additional instructions to install the program.
If you missed the prompt to install Growl when you first launched Nimbuzz for Mac, you should be able to install Growl relatively easily. Just visit the Growl website and download the latest software (called “Growl”, not “Grown SDK”) on your Mac.
Welcome to Nimbuzz for Mac
Once you’ve logged in and solved all the household issues like installing Growl notifications, you’re officially ready to start using Nimbuzz for Mac. Have fun!
