Gmail Emojis let you add the fun and expressiveness of emojis (and more) to your messages.
Emoticons didn’t just become emoticons, but so popular that new ones appear every day. In fact, there are so many that many emoji translators have been created to help you keep up.
Of course, in Gmail, you can always type default text emoticons (say: – | or ;)) in the body of all your emails. You can also insert graphic emoji and choose from a variety of colorful emoji and emoticons, some of which are even animated.
Embed graphical Gmail emojis in your messages
Follow these steps to add a smiley with colorful and possibly animated images (emoticons) to an email from Gmail.
Start a new message and set text cursor where you want to insert the Gmail emoji.
Click the “Insert Smiley” button on the formatting toolbar (it shows a smiling face).
utilities click on the desired emoji to paste it.
Use the tabs at the top to browse through the different categories of Gmail emoji.
Gmail remembers the emojis you use and stores them in an additional tab for easy access. In addition, you can select and move or copy graphic emoticons as text.
Graphic emoticons are not represented by corresponding text emoticons (like :-)) in the text alternative of your message. Gmail will insert emoji with Unicode encoding, which may not show up in email programs that only display ASCII text. This also means that they display well in most modern email programs and services.
Embed Gmail graphic emoji in your emails on mobile devices
To add emoji using the Gmail and Gmail mobile web apps for iOS and Android, you can use the emoji keyboards available on iOS and Android.
Launch the Gmail app on your mobile phone and compose a new message.
Press the emoji button to open the emoji keyboard.
Click on the emoji you want to add to your message. Return as usual.
