Adding birthdays to Google Calendar is just like adding any other event. However, if you set birthdays in Google Contacts, those birthdays are automatically added to Google Calendar when you sync Google Calendar with Google Contacts. This way, any birthday you enter in Google Contacts will show up as an event in the Google Calendar.

Enable birthday calendar in Google Calendar

To enable the birthday calendar in Google Calendar:

  1. Open Google Calendar.

  2. In the top left corner, select the icon menu (Hamburger). Optionally select the drop-down arrow My calendars to expand this section.

  3. Choose a calendar birthdays to enable it.

    If you don’t see the option birthdays select Contacts

  4. Birthdays of your Google contacts are displayed in the Google calendar.

Set Birthday Reminders

Unlike other calendars, the birthday calendar cannot be configured to send notifications. If you want Google Calendar to have birthday reminders, copy individual birthdays to your personal calendar and set the notifications there.
