Sender box by email address or domain
When unwanted spam appears in your inbox, use Outlook Mail on the web (Outlook.com) to easily block these emails and avoid being flooded with future messages in the future.
Block the sender by email address in Outlook Mail on the web
Set up a rule in Outlook Mail on the web that deletes all messages from the sender and deletes all current messages from the same sender:
Open a message from the sender you want to block.
Go to the Outlook Mail toolbar and select cleaning †
In the dialog box For email from select Move all messages from the inbox and all future messages †
Select drop-down arrow Go to and select Deleted items †
Click Okay to finish.
Outlook.com moves all messages from the specified address in the current folder to the Deleted Items folder and adds the sender to the blocked senders list.
What happens to messages from blocked senders
Messages from senders on your blocked senders list will be deleted without notice. You and the sender will not be notified and the messages will not appear in the Deleted Items or Junk E-mail folders.
Block domains in Outlook on the web
To move messages from the domain to the Deleted Items folder:
Go to Institutions †
Select View all Outlook settings †
Select mail † spam †
In section Blocked senders and domains select To add † Then enter the domain you want to block.
Click Enter to add the domain to the blocked senders list.
Select Save and close the Settings dialog box.
Block senders and domains to block spam
Blocking certain senders or domains may not stop unwanted emails, as spam rarely arrives twice from the same address. Report junk emails that end up in your Outlook.com inbox to fight spam. This procedure trains spam filters to recognize and filter similar messages in the future. You must also report phishing.
