Receive emails from a specific sender you don’t want to see? If you know how to block junk emails in Yahoo Mail, you can automatically delete incoming messages from up to 500 email addresses.
The instructions in this article apply to web versions of Yahoo Mail. All steps should be the same regardless of your web browser.
How to Block Junk Emails in Yahoo Mail
To have Yahoo Mail automatically delete all incoming email from a specific address:
Open Yahoo Mail in your web browser and select the gear icon in the top right corner of the window.
From the menu that appears, select Lake Settings †
Select a category Security and privacy on the left, then select + Add †
Enter an unwanted email address in the field The address In chapter Add an email address to block †
Select Save †
How to Block Emails from Specific Senders in Yahoo Mail Basic
To add an email address to the blocked senders list in Yahoo Mail Basic:
Select Account Information next to your account name.
Select parameters: from the drop-down menu, then select To go †
Select Blocked addresses In chapter extra options †
Enter the email address you want to block next to Add address †
Select the plus sign ( † ) to add the address to the blocked list.
Blocking Junk Senders Doesn’t Block Junk Emails
Blocking email addresses is not an effective spam blocking strategy because spammers often use a new address (or domain name) for every junk email they send. Fortunately, Yahoo Mail has a built-in spam blocker that you can customize.
Can you block senders from the Yahoo Mail app?
Unfortunately, you can only block unwanted email addresses in the web versions of Yahoo Mail. Try opening the desktop version in your phone’s browser or using a computer.
