Update your Yahoo Mail password in one minute
By changing your email password from time to time, we strongly recommend that you keep your mailbox safe. Fortunately, it only takes a few seconds to update your Yahoo Mail password.
The instructions in this article apply to web versions of Yahoo Mail.
How to Change Your Yahoo Mail Password
You can go directly to the webpage to change your Yahoo Mail password, or you can get it from your Yahoo Mail inbox.
Select your username at the top of Yahoo Mail, then select Account Information in a pop-up window.
In Yahoo Mail Basic, use the drop-down menu next to your name at the top of the page to select: Account Information and then select To go .
Select Account Security on the left side of the popup page.
Select change Password .
You may be asked if you want to set up a Yahoo account key to sign in with your phone. Select I would rather change my password Get on.
Enter a new secure password in the text fields. You will need to do this twice to confirm you entered correctly.
Select Show password to verify that the passwords you entered match.
Select Get on .
You may then be given the option to provide a recovery email address and phone number if you have not already done so. After you change your password, you will be prompted to enter it when you access your account from other devices or through the Yahoo Mail mobile app for iOS and Android.
What if I forgot my Yahoo email password?
If you can’t log in because you forgot your password, you can recover your Yahoo Mail password if you provided a recovery phone number or email address. Enter your username on the Yahoo Mail login screen, then select I forgot my password In chapter Entrance .
Why Change Your Yahoo Email Password?
There are several reasons why you might want to change your Yahoo Mail password. For instance:
