Use an alternative GIF editor

GIFs are very common for online content and you see them used all over many websites or for memes. Fortunately, you don’t need Photoshop or any other paid editor to create or edit these files. There are several free online GIF makers or apps that let you create or edit GIFs.

These instructions work for Windows or MacOS users.

How to Edit GIF with EZGIF.com

EZGIF.com is an online GIF maker and editor, and the steps to edit GIF are quite simple. Here are some things you can do with it.

Add or remove images from GIF

  1. Start your favorite browser and go to ezgif.com.

  2. Select gif maker

  3. Select Select file

  4. Select the GIF file you want to edit, then select Open

    To add images to your GIF, select them along with the GIF file.

  5. Select Upload and make a GIF

  6. Rearrange the order of the images. You can choose To skip on the images you want to remove from the GIF file. When you’re done, select Save

  7. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the edited GIF file, give it a name, then select Save

  8. Open your edited GIF and enjoy.

Resize a GIF

  1. Follow steps 1-5 above.

  2. With the file open, select Resize

  3. Enter new dimensions in the Width and Height fields, then select Resize Image

  4. Select Save below the thumbnail image.

  5. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the edited GIF file, give it a name, then select Save

  6. Open your edited GIF and enjoy.

How to rotate GIF

  1. Follow steps 1-5 from above to add a GIF file.

  2. With the file open, select To spin

  3. Select a rotation angle or define your own rotation angle using the last rotation option, then select Apply rotation

  4. Select Save below the rotated image.

  5. Navigate to the folder where you want to save the edited GIF file, give it a name, then select Save

  6. Open your edited GIF and enjoy.
