Always know how many unread emails you have
Gmail supports a setting to display the number of unread messages with an overlay of the Gmail icon on the Chrome tab. This option is especially useful if you leave your inbox open in a small pinned window, or if you regularly have too many tabs open to see a number in the title.
Here’s how to do it.
Increase the number of unread Gmail in tabs
To move the unread counter forward in the Gmail page header and make it visible in background tabs or minimized and minimized windows:
Click the icon equipment in Gmail.
Click Settings .
Go to the tab Additionally .
In chapter Unread message icon Click To turn on .
Click Saving Changes .
The Gmail logo on the tab where your inbox is open now has a small number in the lower right corner. It will remain visible if you pin the tab.
