How to keep your Outlook inbox free of attachments
Attachments quickly increase the size of your email archive. If you use Outlook with an Exchange server or an IMAP account and you have a quota for the size of your mailbox, extract attachments from emails and then delete them from the server to reduce the size of your inbox. If you use Outlook to access your POP account and keep all email on your computer, save attachments in a folder and delete them from emails to make your email experience cleaner and faster.
The instructions in this article apply to Outlook 2019, 2016, 2013, 2010, 2007; and Outlook for Office 365.
