No more projects? Time to remove this watermark
Watermarks in Word can be useful tools for quickly marking the pages of your document, protecting content, and easily identifying the status or security requirements of your project. They can also be unnecessary. If you are ready to remove watermark in Word, here’s how to do it in Word 2016, 2010, 2007, Word for Mac and Word Online.
How to remove watermark in Word
Open Microsoft Word and the watermarked document.
On the tab Design select Watermark is located on the right side of the screen.
Select Remove watermark .
In Word 2010 and Word 2007, the watermark is on the page layout and in the group Page background .
If your watermark is still there, Word may have pasted your watermark into the header area if it’s associated with a specific section. Double click on the title area, select the watermark itself and click remove .
If your document has multiple sections that are not related to each other, these steps must be repeated to remove the watermark from each independent section.
Remove watermark in Word for Mac
Open Word for Mac and the watermarked document.
Open a tab Design . In Group Page background Click Watermark .
A window will open Insert Watermark . Select No watermark .
Word for Mac 2011 users should click the page layout select a group Page background and press Watermark .
If the watermark is still there, it may be associated with a title in a specific section. The solution is the same as the Windows version of Word above. You need to double click on the header section to open it, click on the watermark and then remove .
If your document contains multiple sections and section breaks that are unrelated and contain watermarks, you will need to remove the watermark from each section individually by repeating the steps above.
Watermarks in Word Online
Word Online actually supports the use and removal of watermarks. Follow the same steps above for Windows and Mac users respectively.
