Transferring calendar events is easy

View your Google calendar alongside your Outlook calendar by subscribing to your own Google calendar in Outlook. Or import appointments from Google Calendar to Outlook, but the two calendars don’t sync after updates.

The instructions in this article apply to Outlook 2019, Outlook 2016, Outlook 2013, and Outlook for Office 365.

Subscribe to your Google calendar

Setting up an iCal subscription ensures that your copy of your Google Calendar in Outlook is up to date.

  1. Log in to your Google Calendar.

  2. In the left pane, select My calendars to expand the list.

  3. Select the calendar you want to add to Outlook, select the three dots that appear to the right of the calendar name, then select Settings and sharing .

  4. In chapter Integrate calendar right click on the URL below The public URL of this calendar and select To copy .

  5. Open Outlook, go to tab File and select Information .

  6. Select account settings > account settings .

  7. In the dialog box account settings select tab Internet calendars .

  8. Select New .

  9. Click Ctrl+V to paste the address you copied from your Google Calendar account, then select To add .

  10. In the dialog box Subscription Options enter the name of the calendar in the text box Folder name and then select Okay .

  11. In the dialog box account settings select close to .

Import appointments from Google calendar to Outlook

To have the events in your Google Calendar account currently without updates, import them into Outlook.

  1. Sign in to your Google Calendar account.

  2. Click on icon Settings and select Settings .

  3. In the left pane, select Import and Export .

  4. Select Export and press the button Export . The ZIP file will be downloaded to your computer.

  5. Open Windows Explorer, highlight the downloaded file and select Unpack everything .

  6. Open Outlook and go to the tab File .

  7. Select Open and Export > Import Export to start the Import and Export Wizard.

  8. Select Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar file and then select Further .

  9. Go to the folder where you saved the extracted file, select the file that ends with gmail.com and then select Okay .

  10. Select Import .

  11. Your Google Calendar events appear in Outlook.
