Save time sending emails with Outlook mailing list
Use a distribution list in Outlook to send the same email to a group of recipients. Setting up a mailing list in Outlook is very easy. After the distribution list is created, use this list to send messages in Outlook and immediately send them to all members of the list.
The instructions in this article apply to Outlook 2019, 2016, 2013, 2010, 2007; and Outlook for Office 365.
Send a message to a distribution list in Outlook
To send the same email to the whole mailing list in Outlook:
Create a new email message in Outlook. Go to the tab House and choose New email address †
Select To who †
Select a mailing list.
Select Hidden copy †
In a text box To who Enter your email address.
If you want to use a descriptive name in the “To” field, put the descriptive name before your email address and surround your address and † † For example, a message to the Phytocodex list would be Phytocodex.
Select Okay †
Compose a message.
Select send to send an email to everyone on the distribution list.
Since your email address is in the “To” field of the message, you will receive a copy. This does not indicate an error.
More flexible message list
For a more advanced list of emails, including personalized email newsletters, see Bulk Email Add-in for Outlook. Outlook’s own email merging feature is another option.
