Ready to sign in to Windows Live Messenger? Before you can sign in to Messenger, users must sign up for a new account so they can chat with other Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo Messenger contacts.

Follow these simple steps to sign up for a Windows Live Messenger account:

  1. Navigate with your browser to the Windows Live registration website.

  2. Click the Sign Up button to get a Windows Live Messenger account.

  3. Enter your details in the appropriate fields on the next page:

    1. Windows Live ID . Enter your choice of screen name in this field. This Windows Live ID is used to log in. You can also select hotmail.com or live.com email.
    2. password . Choose your password to use when you sign in to Windows Live Messenger.
    3. personal information . Then enter your first and last name, country, state, zip code, gender, and year of birth.
  4. Click “I accept” to complete your Windows Live Messenger registration.

After you sign up for your Windows Live account, you can proceed to sign in to Messenger.

After you sign up for your Windows Live Messenger account, you can start using the Messenger client.

Follow these simple steps to sign in to Windows Live Messenger:

  1. Enter your Windows Live ID and password in the field provided.

  2. Windows Live Messenger users can also select the following options before logging in to the IM client:

    1. availabilty . By default, users can sign in to Windows Live Messenger as “available,” but you can also select “busy,” “out of office,” or even “displayed offline” to prevent instant messages from being received. from someone other than the person you are starting the instant messaging session with.
    2. remember me . Select this option if you want the computer to remember your Windows Live ID. This option should not be selected if you are using a public computer.
    3. Remember my password . Select this option if you want the computer to remember your Windows Live password. This option should also not be selected if you are using a public computer.
    4. Log in automatically . The automatic login option allows you to start Windows Live Messenger automatically when you open the chat client. This option should also not be selected if you are using a public computer.
  3. After entering your Windows Live account information and selecting all relevant options, click Sign In to sign in to Windows Live Messenger.
