Set up Outlook Online Email in Mozilla Thunderbird
Using the POP3 or IMAP, you can download messages from your Outlook Online account to Mozilla Thunderbird as if it were a regular email account. Depending on your needs, you can use Mozilla Thunderbird for your email client with either protocol.
The instructions in this article apply to Outlook Online.
Access Free Outlook Online in Mozilla Thunderbird with POP – Inbox Only
With POP3 you can only sync your inboxes. No subfolders are included in Thunderbird.
To add Outlook Online to Mozilla Thunderbird, you must first enable POP options in Outlook.com.

On the Outlook.com website, select Settings (equipment).

Scroll down and select View all Outlook settings †

Go to page mail † Synchronize email † POP and IMAP †

In chapter Pop-up options † Allow devices and apps to use POP select Yes and then select Save †

In Thunderbird under bills † Set up an account select E-mail †

Enter your name † E-mail address and password and choose Get on †

In chapter Configuration found in Mozilla ISP database select POP3 (keep email on your computer) † (Optional, you can check the box) Remember password †

Select Manual setting †

In chapter inbox in the field Server hostname enter outlook.office365.com †

Change Port on the 995 †

Change SSL on the SSL/TLS †

In chapter outgoing in the field Server hostname enter smtp.office365.com †

Change Port on the 587 and for SSL set value STARTTLS.

Make sure your email address is correct in user name on the incoming and outgoing †

Your settings should look like this:

Access Free Outlook Online in Mozilla Thunderbird with IMAP – Folders Included
To access email and other folders in your inbox you need to IMAP in Thunderbird. To customize IMAP do the following.

In Thunderbird under bills † Set up an account select E-mail †

Enter your name † E-mail address and password and choose Get on †

In chapter Configuration found in Mozilla ISP database select IMAP (Remote Folders) † (Optional, you can check the box) Remember password †

Select Manual setting †

In chapter inbox in the field Server hostname enter outlook.office365.com †

Change Port on the 993 †

Change SSL on the SSL/TLS †

In chapter outgoing in the field Server hostname enter smtp.office365.com †
