These free templates can boost your productivity and organization
Templates are useful tools that you may be familiar with in other programs, such as Microsoft Office applications. But did you know you can also use them for Evernote tasks?
The approach to using these tools is slightly different, but you can save time by creating your own collection of Evernote templates. I’ll show you how to do it by giving you some tips this year on the best templates for better organization.
To help you find great solutions as quickly as possible, we’ve made this collection of favorites, so follow the slides below for direct links.
Using a template in Evernote
In the past, Evernote users had access to templates during a workaround, which meant taking notes and then copying and pasting those notes into a new document each time they wanted to use it. Evernote has finally come through and released a library of templates that all users can access. You can find these templates in the Evernote Template Gallery.
Remark . While all users can access Evernote templates, they can only be applied to existing documents by premium users. If you’re using the free version of Evernote, you’ll either need to use existing notes in their current format, or recreate them to fit the template you want.
To use Evernote templates:
Go to the Evernote Template gallery and find the one you want to use.
Click View Template to view the full document.
When you find the template you want to use, click Save Template .
To use the template, create a new note in Evernote and click the Sample in the body of the note.
Select the template you want to use from the available templates in the list.
A menu with three options appears: Apply Template , Rename Template and Delete Template . In this case, choose Apply Template to apply it to the note.
Then create the note as you normally would, modify and add text and formatting as you wish.
This is it! Soon, using templates in Evernote should feel like second nature.
Remark . Templates work differently in Evernote on the web. If you find that you can’t open them when using Evernote in a web browser, try downloading the desktop app (for Windows) or using the app on your mobile device. Once you’ve launched a document in a template, you can open it through Evernote for the browser.

More notes on your own collection of Evernote templates
Since you may be reading this while setting goals or renewing efforts for an organization, you may want to consider an additional preparation step.
Create a separate template folder. Think of it like a couch. Put your templates, especially those you find in resources outside of Evernote, in a folder, and when you find a reason to use one, it’s ready and you know exactly where to find it.
To use a template, just select it by right clicking and choose Copy to notepad . This allows you to place a copy of this template in a destination folder of your choice.
Share notes with your team
Since you can customize your templates and reuse them as needed, it might be a good idea to collaborate with your team. Depending on your subscription, you can share note templates and further increase your team’s productivity.
