Collaborate in real time in Microsoft OneNote

Real-time collaboration means multiple people can edit the same document at the same time, and the online version of Microsoft OneNote lets you do this using notes.

Changes should appear immediately, although some users have reported some sync delays.

Share OneNote notebooks through a document

Share OneNote files as private links that you send to specific recipients who don’t need OneNote to view your files.

Select File To share Get a share link. You can choose whether those you share with can only edit or view your work.

Disable a OneNote link after it’s published

After you share a Microsoft OneNote link, you can undo it by disabling the link.

However, keep in mind how long these generic links are. Since Twitter limits the number of characters, you can submit it through a service like TinyURL before clicking Post.

You don’t have to fix one note-taking program. Here’s how to share your Evernote notes with Microsoft OneNote. On an Android tablet, you can do this by selecting: To share A note † You may need to sign in with your Microsoft account before the file can be published.

Set up meetings in Outlook directly from OneNote

You can easily organize and lead meetings from OneNote, for example by sending a notes page or a shared notebook with a calendar to recipients via Outlook.

The benefit is that as the meeting creator, you are aware of any changes to your documents, but changes to the meeting are also updated in OneNote.

During a meeting, you can assign tasks and reminders to display in OneNote and Outlook.
