Add a personal touch to messages with custom fonts in Yahoo Mail
Most email services use easy-to-read fonts such as Garamond, Arial, or Courier as their default text. Yahoo Mail lets you use custom fonts to personalize your messages.
The instructions in this article only apply to the standard web version of Yahoo Mail. Yahoo Mail Basic and the Yahoo Mail app do not support alternative fonts.
Using Custom Fonts in Yahoo Mail
To write a message using a custom font in Yahoo Mail:
Select To create to start a new message in Yahoo Mail.
Click on the message body and then select AA on the toolbar at the bottom of the window.
Select the desired font and text size.
These changes are not permanent. Your subsequent emails will revert to the default font and text size.
Enter your message.
If you’ve already typed a message, you can highlight the sections and apply text formatting by selecting AA .
Other font and text improvements for Yahoo Mail
Use the formatting toolbar to make further improvements to your text. For example, you can:
Make text bold.
Change text color or add highlight.
Make a bulleted list.
Make an ordered list.
Change text alignment.
Select ellipses (…) from the toolbar to access more options.
All of these functions require rich text formatting to be displayed. If you select the option in the format bar to switch to plain text, none of your improvements will be displayed. The same is true if the recipient has chosen to only accept text messages. In this case, none of your improvements will appear on the recipient’s side.
