Scan files for viruses by attaching them to messages in Yahoo Mail
Yahoo Mail automatically checks files you send as attachments for known viruses. For example, it is possible to use Yahoo Mail as a virus scanner.
The instructions in this article apply to the standard web version of Yahoo Mail. The steps are the same for all web browsers.
Using Yahoo Mail as a virus scanner
To check a file for viruses with Yahoo Mail:
Create a new message and select paper clip on the bottom toolbar.
Select the file you want to scan and then select Open .
Yahoo Mail will notify you if it finds a virus in the file. If no threat is found, the file is added to the message and a preview image appears.
To unlink a file, hover over the attachment preview, select ellipses ( … ) in the top right corner, then select remove in the drop-down list. the menu down.
Due to attachment size limits, Yahoo Mail cannot scan files larger than 25 MB.
