Use your printer to display the very long Gmail message on the screen

Gmail crops any email message larger than 102 KB, a relatively small size that contains header information you don’t normally see, and creates a link to the entire message. When a long Gmail message ends suddenly”[Сообщение обрезано] View Entire Message” you can’t see the rest of the email.

You can open the email in a separate browser window, but this may result in the same ending in a different format. You can also view the source. Everything is there, but it’s harder to read.

However, Gmail does not truncate messages when formatting for print. And you don’t have to write them down on paper to read them all.

Open a Gmail message in its entirety with the Print command

When you receive a long Gmail message and want to show the entire message on the screen:

  1. Open the message.

  2. Click on icon seal in the upper right corner of the letter.

You may have to scroll to find the icon.

  3. When the browser’s print dialog box opens, click Cancel.

  4. All email will appear on the screen that opens. You can now scroll to view the entire post.

Fully open the Gmail conversation

If you enable Gmail Conversation View, an alternate way to open the entire Gmail conversation is:

  1. Open a conversation.

  2. Click on icon In a new window displayed next to the Print icon at the top of the screen.

  3. Scroll to view the content of the conversation.

  4. Click on icon seal to view or print the entire conversation.

About Gmail’s Length Limits

While there is no limit to the length of a Gmail message in terms of text, there is a limit to the size of a message that includes text, attachments, headers, and encoding. You can receive messages up to 50 MB in Gmail, but outgoing messages sent from Gmail are limited to 25 MB.

This 25 MB contains any attachments, your message and all headers. Even the encoding makes the file grow a bit. If you try to send a larger file, you’ll get an error message or Google will offer to save the larger attachment to Google Drive and provide a link to include in an email.
