Navigate no Snapchat app and all its resources can get complicated at times, especially when you see a strange blue angel around someone’s Snapchat story. Seems like every major social app these days has a “History” resource, that’s why they’re there. Are you on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp or YouTube, social media stories are everywhere.
But before that happened, Snapchat was the first app to change the viral source of Stories. Snapchat Stories was added to the Snapchat app in October 2013. If you don’t want to send a photo/video directly to a friend, the Stories option allows you to post this visible message to all your contacts for a limited period of 24 hours. † Since then, history has remained an integral part of the Snapchat experience for nearly 10 years. There’s a page dedicated to “Stories” in the Snapchat app, posting to your stories is easier than ever, and it’s a resource that doesn’t seem to be anywhere.
Despite the popularity of Snapchat Stories, this is not to say that the source is 100% self-explanatory. Stories are easily accessible and highlighted on Snapchat, but knowing how everything works is another disappointment. An excellent example of this is the blue ring that often appears in the background of a Snapchat story. New messages from friends with a pink ring around them appear on the Snapchat history page. So why is this pink ring sometimes blue? The answer is actually quite simple, even if Snapchat doesn’t explain it clearly.
The different pages of the Snapchat app have different themes. You can see this in the navigation bar below the application. The camera page is highlighted in yellow, the Snap Map is in green, the Spotlight page is in yellow, and so on. Just like the history page has a bright pink color, new stories from your friends will appear with a pink ring around them. Stories can also be found on the bate-papo page. When a friend picks up a new History post to attend, she will appear next to the name with a blue ring around History. Why? Because the bat-papo page turns bright blue.
Tapping on a Snapchat story with a blue ring will allow you to see the story in exactly the same way as it is tapped on the history page. After viewing the history, you will be redirected to the bate-papo page and the blue ring will disappear – it will be replaced by a set icon indicating that you can view the history again.
That’s basically all that’s done for that. If you go to a Snapchat story on the dedicated stories page, it will appear with a red ring. If you search for a story on the bate-papo page, it has a blue angel around it. There is no secret meaning or anything like that. It’s just a design school in Snapchat paper. Nothing more nothing less.
